What dispensaries can and can't put in an ad

Most cannabis campaigns stall on ad rules, not budget — usually after a client has already paid for creative that won't run. These are the platform rules we build creative to, published so you can see them before we ever talk.

The baseline creative rules

  • Products cannot be displayed in ads
  • Use of the word “Marijuana” is not allowed
  • Kratom products are not allowed
  • No testimonials, endorsements or sponsorship claims without review
  • No glamorization, health benefits, youth appeal, or consumption imagery
  • No association with motor vehicles or activities requiring skill or care
  • Ads must be clean and simple
  • Offers are allowed
  • Ads must link to the company's website
  • Company must be licensed and include name and logo
  • Age gates are recommended before landing pages

Display requirements

Accepted banner sizes include 320x50, 728x90, 160x600, 300x250, 300x600, 970x250, 320x480, 480x320, 768x1024 and 1024x768. JPG, PNG, GIF, HTML5 and third-party ad tags are supported.

Video requirements

Streaming creative should be MP4 preferred, 1920x1080, 16:9, 15 or 30 seconds, and no more than 1GB.

Creative changes are included

Supply your own or we'll build them — $150 for a full display set. Creative changes mid-campaign are included at no charge.

We build creative to these rules. We're marketers, not attorneys — your legal counsel is the right source on your own compliance obligations.

Grow every location at once.

Book twenty minutes and you'll see how one campaign can cover all of your stores — with volume pricing for three or more locations.
